Pottery as One of the Best Moroccan Art

The culture of Morocco is a very nice complex with a number of influences. The pottery is quite unique and considered to be one of the best Moroccan art. The fineness of Moroccan craftsmen can be seen on their original and colorful designed pottery.

The skilled artisan turns raw soil into beautiful vases and platters. The process begins with the gathering of raw clay. The young artisan uses their feet to stamp the clay into large coils and then left in the sun to let it dry. Afterwards, the clay is spun into the wheel to create its shape and then again left to dry in the sun.

After each pot is fire in order to evaporate any left moisture in the soil, each piece is then embroidered with a variety of natural glaze applied only with the use of artisan hands. Because of its natural glaze or finish, the final product is very well decorated and has become water resistant. Pottery designs vary from tradition themes to modern design but all pieces is sure to have several firing and glazing to ensure its beautiful design and quality.
